For owner-operators and carrier owners
Owner operator software for one truck or a growing fleet
When you run your own authority, you are the dispatcher, the bookkeeper and the safety office at the same time. LaneTally puts loads, invoices, drivers, pay and books in one place, so one truck does not need ten apps, and a fleet does not need ten more.
No sign-up. No credit card. Fake data, just look around.
LaneTally is in beta. The demo uses example data, and anything you type in it stays in your browser. Join the waiting list — founding members get early access. Items marked Coming at launch are not working yet.
Who this is for
LaneTally has a plan for carrier owners who book their own loads, with no dispatcher fee, from one truck up to a fleet. If you already work with a dispatcher who uses LaneTally, you do not pay at all: ask them to invite you. The carrier owner video shows everything you see and do when your dispatcher uses LaneTally. If you are still getting your authority, read how to get MC authority first.
Book your own loads and know if they pay
Your Home shows what needs you today. When an offer comes in, the New load form says "Worth it" or "Too low" using your real cost per mile and the smallest profit per mile you set. If you leave empty miles blank, it counts 0 and tells you so.
Cost per mile can be typed in, or figured from your delivered loads and your books for the last 90 days, this month or this year. It reminds you when typed numbers have not been checked for 90 days.
Get paid by brokers, on time
- Freight invoices made from the load, with a checklist and the signed BOL.
- Short pays recorded with a reason, and factoring fees booked correctly.
- For a late payer: reminder 1, reminder 2, final notice, then a bond claim packet (BMC-84 / BMC-85) at 30 days late. Each reminder opens a ready email in your own email app.
- A broker list with Approved, Watch and Do not book, and, coming at launch, a tracking link brokers open without an account.
A driver app for your drivers
Each driver gets today's load step by step: "I am on my way", "I arrived", "I delivered the load". The route to each stop opens in Google Maps or Apple Maps. BOL and receipt photos go straight to the office, and "My pay" shows each weekly statement. CDL, medical card and truck papers are ready to show at a roadside inspection. Drivers never pay.
You can see the driver's phone screens in the demo today. The phone apps, live GPS location and truck navigation inside the app are Coming at launch.
Pay, books and IFTA from the same loads
Choose how each driver is paid: per mile, percent of the load, flat per load or per hour. Weekly statements fill in from delivered loads. When a statement, an invoice or a receipt is marked paid or approved, it goes into your books with a Schedule C line. Details: driver pay and settlements, trucking accounting software and IFTA reporting.
Books and IFTA in LaneTally are information only, not tax advice. Check with your accountant. More in trucking expense tracking and how to file IFTA.
Renewals you do not have to remember
Papers & renewals tracks insurance, CDLs, medical cards, inspections, UCR, IFTA and 2290, and you can add COI, cargo, MCS-150, IRP and permits. You get a warning 30 days before something expires, on the page and on your Home. Email and text reminders are Coming at launch.
Growing past one truck
As you add trucks you can invite a team, each with their own login. A Dispatcher role sees loads, brokers and rates, but no books, bank or driver pay. An Office / Bookkeeper role sees invoices, books, receipts, driver pay and IFTA, but cannot change loads. You can pay an in-house dispatcher a percent or flat amount per load. Team members are included in the plan.
Want to dispatch other carriers' trucks too? You can start a separate dispatch business with the same login and keep your own trucks apart. That business is on the dispatcher plan: $39 a month with 2 trucks included, plus $12 a month for each extra truck. See truck dispatch software.
In English and Spanish
Carrier owner and driver screens switch between English and Spanish. Things people type, invoices and downloaded reports stay in English.
What it costs
The carrier owner plan starts at $49 a month for 1 to 2 trucks. All plans and truck counts are on the home page.
Questions people ask

Yes. The carrier owner plan starts at 1 to 2 trucks. You get loads, invoices, books, cost per mile, IFTA and renewals in one place, and you can add trucks and people as you grow.
I have a dispatcher. Do I need to pay?
No. Carriers whose dispatcher uses LaneTally do not pay. Ask your dispatcher to invite you.
Can my drivers use it in Spanish?
Yes. The driver screens and the carrier owner screens can be switched to Spanish. Invoices and downloaded reports stay in English.
Is there a phone app?
The phone apps are coming at launch. Join the waiting list: founding members get early access. You can see the driver's phone screens in the demo now.
Does it track my trucks by GPS?
Not yet. Live GPS location from the phone app is coming at launch. Today the office sees each stop as the driver marks it.
